Black History Month

The London Arts Council participates in Black History Month to honour the legacy of Black artists and Black artistic communities.

 

The 2022 theme for Black History Month in Canada is: “February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day,” which focuses on recognizing the daily contributions that Black Canadians make to Canada.
 

The London Arts Council asked some of the artists we work with to share their perspectives about what it means to live and create as a black artist in London. The following 12 artists offered their views and experiences on the topic:
